New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has praised party members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after they were ordered to be released from custody.
In a post on X, Dipke said both leaders were much bigger leaders than him. He also said he was happy to follow their orders and stand by them.
In a light-hearted message, he added that neither leader would walk alone in a garden without him.
Why Were the CJP Leaders Detained?
Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained after they allegedly entered a protest area at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
On October 14, they were sent to five days of judicial custody. Their custody was extended by two more days on October 19.
On Wednesday, a Special Executive Magistrate ordered their release after the required sureties were accepted, according to media reports.
Dipke Responds to Online Claims
Earlier, Dipke shared a video on Instagram after some people online claimed he was blaming the two leaders to protect himself.
He said his words had been misunderstood and that he had no problem accepting when someone was better than him.
The matter also reached the Delhi High Court, where the judges asked about the ages of Das and Ranka during a hearing on their custody.
The incident took place amid protests by CJP members and opposition groups in Delhi. They were demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged problems in the voter list revision process.
