Israeli Strike on Gaza University Kills Three, Students Among the Injured

Gaza City: Three people were killed and eight others injured in an Israeli drone strike on a university in Gaza City on Sunday, according to a local hospital and university staff.

Al Shifa Hospital said it received the bodies of three people and treated eight injured people. Two sources at the Islamic University said those killed were university staff members, while the injured included students.

Education Ministry Condemns Attack

Gaza’s Education Ministry said students were attending classes when the strike took place. It condemned the attack and called for better protection of students and universities.

The ministry also said that about 95% of buildings linked to higher education institutions in Gaza had been damaged during the war.

The Israeli military said it was looking into reports about the strike.

More People Killed Across Gaza

Gaza’s civil defence agency reported that four more people were killed in separate incidents on Sunday. Two died in an airstrike in Khan Yunis, one in Deir al Balah and another in northern Gaza.

Although a ceasefire has been in place for more than a year, violence has continued in parts of Gaza. The latest reports have raised fresh concerns about the safety of students, teachers and other civilians.
