Chhattisgarh’s Red Corridor Areas Now Becoming Centres of Peace and Development: PM Modi

PM Modi Says Government Protected Farmers from Rising Fertiliser Prices

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says areas once affected by Maoist violence are now moving towards peace, better roads, education, jobs and modern facilities.

Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that many areas of Chhattisgarh, which were once known for Maoist violence, are now moving towards peace and development.

In the past, several parts of the state were known as the ‘Red Corridor’ because of the presence of Maoist groups. These areas faced violence, fear and many development challenges. However, the situation is now changing, with better roads, transport facilities and government projects reaching more people.

PM Modi shared these views in a letter to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion of the state’s foundation day.

He said that ending Left Wing Extremism has opened new opportunities for people and helped the state move towards a more peaceful future.

Chhattisgarh Has Seen Big Changes in Transport

The Prime Minister also spoke about the improvement in transport and connectivity.

He said that around 25 years ago, there was only one daily flight between Delhi and Raipur. Today, Chhattisgarh has four modern airports.

He also said that railway projects worth more than ₹51,000 crore are being carried out in the state. New train services, including Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat, have also improved travel options for passengers.

Road development has also made travel easier. According to PM Modi, the travel time between Raipur and Bilaspur has almost become half because of better roads.

New expressways are also being planned to connect important cities and business centres. These roads are expected to help businesses grow and create more jobs.

Free Food and Houses for Millions of Families

PM Modi highlighted several government schemes that are helping families across Chhattisgarh.

According to him, around 73 lakh families are receiving free food grains through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and state government schemes.

He also said that around 22 lakh houses have been built in rural and urban areas. These homes are helping families who earlier struggled to find proper housing.

More than 41 lakh rural families have received tap water connections, while around 40 lakh families have been provided with LPG connections for cooking.

These facilities aim to make everyday life easier, especially for families living in villages.

Farmers and Women Getting Government Support

The Prime Minister also spoke about the support being given to farmers and women.

He said that the state’s paddy procurement system is helping more than 25 lakh farmers get better prices for their crops. This is also supporting the income of families living in rural areas.

Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, more than 68 lakh women are receiving ₹1,000 every month.

The scheme aims to provide financial support to women and help them take a bigger role in family and social decisions.

Nava Raipur Moving Towards Industrial Growth

PM Modi said that Nava Raipur is developing as a modern city and new business opportunities are being explored in different sectors.

These include:

  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Textiles
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Power
  • Aluminium
  • Steel

The growth of these industries could bring new businesses, investment and employment opportunities to the state.

Bastar Moving Towards Peace and Better Facilities

Bastar is one of the regions that has faced Maoist violence for many years.

PM Modi said that the region is now moving towards peace and development. He also mentioned government programmes such as Niyad Nellanar, livelihood development schemes and Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar.

These programmes aim to improve basic facilities, healthcare and employment opportunities for people living in remote villages.

The focus is on making sure that people in these areas can get better access to essential services and government support.

PM Modi Says Chhattisgarh Is Moving Towards a New Future

PM Modi said that Chhattisgarh is making progress in peace, development and good governance.

He believes that better roads, airports, railway services, housing, drinking water and employment opportunities will help the state grow further.

The change in areas once affected by Maoist violence is an important part of this development story.

With more infrastructure projects and government schemes, Chhattisgarh is working towards a future where people can live with greater safety and better opportunities.
